Elaine joined authors Mark Anielski (The Economics of Happiness) and Fred Stenson (long-time contributor to Alberta Views and author of more than a dozen books, including The Great Karoo) for Brews and Views, a regularly scheduled event that features readings and lively discussions fueled by enthusiasm and alcohol. Elaine read excerpts from her short story "Cafeteria Mentality," which won the 2011 Alberta Views Short Fiction Contest, and which was published in the magazine's December issue.
